(Books are also available at Chestnut Street Market @ 220 East Chestnut Street in Corydon. ) Journey Along Blue River Books will also be available at any of our programs listed below...on the 4th Tuesday of each month in 2024 @ 7:00 pm at the HCCF @ 1523 Foundation Way in Corydon (on the road on the YMCA.)
The Historical Society of Harrison County will have the William Henry Harrison Log Cabin at 419 North Capitol Avenue open on fall weekends in September and October (Friday 9-5, Saturday 9-5, Sunday 1-5) Or to make an appointment at another time , call (812) 736-2373 or karengleitz@hotmail.com. The cabin is filled with a wide variety of artifacts from Harrison County Indiana's rich history including memorabilia about William Henry Harrison, the Battle of Corydon, Squire Boone, the Harrison County, Fair, Keller Manufacturing Company, Griffin's Store, the Constitution Elm, James Best, the Nine Historic Buildings That Were in Corydon During the Capital Period (1816-1825) That Are Still Here!" as well as tools and farm implements, signs, advertising, quilts, baskets, books, maps, photos, paintings and many other commemorative artifacts and items of interest. The cabin visit is free and open to the public. Several of the Historical Society of Harrison County books, including the recently released "Journey Along Blue River," "Small Towns Harrison County," "Harrison County Driving Tour," "Nine Historic Buildings That Were Here During the Capitol Period (1816-1825)-And Are Still Here!" "Harrison County Fair Sesquicentennial Book" and more will also be available for a donation to the Historical Society of Harrison County.
